Released 2011-07-22...
3 Major New Things
a) Movement
Mobiles no longer calculate threat ranges when they choose movement. This was causing things to move in strange / unexpected ways. For now... what you click is what you get.
NEW: "Run". You can single-move, double-move and now you can run. Run is 4 times your movement unless you have the run feat in which case it's x5.
b) Stackable / Linkable Maps
Use the "MapLink" object to join maps together. (Can't stack yet due to interface). This new feature is still in its infancy so make sure you save before trying.
c) Transitions
Players will connect on a given map until you indicate otherwise. This means if you load 2 maps, players are not autmatically forwarded to the new map - you must cause this by clicking "Transition". This will make it easier for you to edit a map before the players reach it.
*) Didn't make the cut... -Die Roller (I want to make it open source so people can see how tools can be added onto Qex). -Correction of mirror in textures (still needs more testing. Like weeks of it).

Other important notes:
1. Files will now tend to load into the same window (before a new window was created and thus players had no access to it).
If your file doesn't seem to load, you can often coax it by going to the "Window" menu and choosing it from the list (even if it's already checked). Just soetimes the file loads but the root object doesn't recognize it.
2. Older Qex clients will stumble on the new coordinate system (which can go anywhere now). Older clients expect all terrain and object data to fit into a 256x256 grid. They will probably crash if you try to get them to connect here.
3. A lot of care was taken to ensure 0.8.4 would load maps from any previous version. Although I keep 30 maps files around for testing, I can't ensure every combination has been tested. If it won't load yours please post here and it will be patched.
